good god.

seeing my last post made me laugh. 21 old?! HA. try 23. try grad school.

what i would give to go back to junior year....what a good year! actually, i think it may have been the best year of my college experience. classes were demanding, but no research or thesis. frisbee was awesomely fun and new, but not yet all-consuming. i was making new friends (jean, woot!). no job hunting, no hours on end in my office wasting away, no worries. those were the days...

question: when scheduling a phone call, what is the acceptable error between the time you say you are going to call and the time you actually call? if i'm told i will get a call at noon, how long do i wait before giving up and not waiting anymore? i realize it's been less than 15 min since the time the call was set to occur, but seriously, this is like torture on my end. JUST CALL WHEN YOU SAY YOU WILL. whew.

because god knows i could be making better use of my time right now than resurrecting a blog from 2.5 yrs ago. shit, i am nearly 23.5 yrs old. yikes. i'll get to celebrate that one in houston at LPSC, sweet.

this is the life

i'm sitting in my new chair with my laptop on my lap, my feet on my ottoman, the tv on in front of me. so great. i'm so glad to have a single this year, woo. pictures of the room to come soon. that's all i got to say.

not that anyone reads this....

...but i just wanted to let you know that my grandma's doing better. she's going to move into a nursing home or assisted-living place in the next couple days. this means i will be getting to school as planned, so no worries there. had my last game of summer pick-up tonight, it was lots o fun, but sad to go. anyway, can't wait to be at brown next week, playing ulti with all my friends! see everyone soon...

weirdness and other oddities

hmm, how to begin such a post? other than to simply declare, my grandmother's dying. sad...and true...and all of the above. i'm not going to lie, i was ready to come back home from providence by the end of it. but i'm also not going to lie about how much fun i had, how great it was to see everyone, how much i'm going to miss jen and kathryn this semester, and how little thought i gave to the reality of my grandmother going into the hospital last monday, and not doing well. so coming home was going to be a wonderfully horrible thing...i was going to see mom, sleep in my bed, rush off to chicago, and spend some time with my family. and i did just that, but in much more of a whirlwind of exhaustion and fright than i anticipated. and coming home today, i'm really glad for, but i'm also so glad that i went. i just have to take it one day at a time right now, cuz who knows just when she'll go, and just how i'll be getting to school, and just what the hell is going to happen.

pdence!!!

so i'm here in providence, and it is so great to see jen and kathryn again. kathryn and i went to eat, then came back to the apartment where i saw jen and we all sat around and talked for a long time. so great to fall right back into the stories and conversations and the company. jen has to work tomorrow, but kathryn and i are going to go to the zoo, see how it stacks up to binder park :) after that, it's to CT for a couple days, then probably see my bro in boston over the weekend. more later....some important tv-watching going on

last day of work

well, work's over, and as i look ahead to the month i have left before school, i'm realizing that i really only have a month left before school. i feel like it's going to fly right by....and it probably will.

i got new computer speakers, so exciting. they're jbl creature II speakers and look like they're from outer space. that's one step closer to working for nasa, right? haha, i'm a dork.

here's how things should shake down the rest of the week/end:
weds - sleep in, enjoy waffle cone wednesday, possibly renew my driver's license, ultimate at 8
thurs - possibly renew my driver's license, have dinner at dad's, see grace and vince's new puppy, go to ribfest with andrea
fri - chicago with mom to see the body worlds exhibit, spend the night at grandma's
sat - come home, possible school supply shopping with the parental unit
sun - mow and pack, ultimate at 7
mon - off to pdence!

then i'm back the 17th to have a garage sale, possible go to a tourney in lansing, pack up everything, and drive to school to arrive the 28th. whew. right now though, i think i should try to cut down on my sleep debt considering i got 5.5 hours of sleep last night....seeing amelia was certainly worth it though :)
