regionals!
so we got to go to regionals since a team dropped out. i was worried that it wouldn't be any fun and we'd just get our asses kicked all day, but yesterday was spectacular. we had first-round bi, which sucked cuz then we got up like an hour earlier than we needed to. but anyway, we watched the men for awhile, then the women, then warmed up. we started off playing MIT, which was seeded first of 16 teams - we were seeded last. we lost 13-2, but we made them work hard for every point. our defense is really strong, we just need better flow and smarter throws on offense. so after MIT, we played williams. the points were really long, but we hung in there and ended up winning 6-3 (or maybe it was 6-4...). we were so excited!!! i was playing really well, making really smart throws and keeping my head in the game the whole time. it was especially exciting because we were originally going to go to williams for a B team only tourney this weekend, but went to regionals instead at the last minute and then beat the williams A team. right after that game, we played wellesley. even though we were all still on a high from our win, we were pretty exhausted and the crappy weather was getting to us. we didn't play as well as we could of....if only we had had our bi then....so we ended up losing. we were then supposed to play northeastern to decided 9th and 10th place, but they didn't want to play, so we got 9th!! we played a quick game with UNH for fun, we had a senior/junior line, a freshmen line, a names that start with J line. good times, although i was sick of playing at that point, and we ended up losing. we watched the women's A team beat MIT in the pouring rain, then headed back to brown. pretty damn awesome to be the only B team at regionals and end up 9 of 16 when we came in seeded last!!! i'm really sad that the season is over and all the seniors are leaving :( good thing there's still seaweed's tuesday nights and hopefully pick-up games and whatnot. i can't believe this year is almost over....
